Support Southwark Foodbank

The festive season is all about giving and sharing. Gifts, good times and celebrations. We also make an extra effort to support those in need at this time of year. And here are a few ways you can support one of our favourite local charities, the Southwark Foodbank, based on Peckham High Street:

  • On Thursday 27th November – Saturday 29th November (between 9am-5pm) – We will be hosting our national supermarket collections at three Southwark based Tesco stores; Old Kent Road, Elephant and Castle and Surrey Quays. Volunteers are needed for 2-3 hour slots. Strong people are especially needed towards the end of the day to assist with the heavy lifting and transport of food collections back to HQ!
  • Come to Pexmas on 13th December at 4pm and listen to a group of local lads and lasses raising their cheery voices with festive tunes to raise some cash for the Foodbank! Dig deep for a great cause. If anyone is interested in joining this ragtag bunch of songbirds, give us a shout on info@pexmas.com – all ability levels welcome!
  • The last weekend before Christmas, Saturday 20th December – Sunday 21st December – We will be conducting a bag packing event to fundraise for our Christmas Hamper appeal. The Southwark based Tesco stores have invited us to offer shoppers assistance with packing their shopping in exchange for donations towards the Foodbank. This will take place between 12pm-4pm and volunteers will be needed to for a maximum of 2 hours.

If you can give any time to help the Foodbank on any of their packing dates, do contact Lucianna.Boye.Thompson@pecan.org.uk
