Gourmandizing The Blue Bermondsey BID

Our latest collaboration is taking place in proper Bermondsey, a district known as The Blue, which has a new fantastic Business Improvement District focussed on projects and works to enliven the neighbourhood, help local businesses and work with partners on projects like this one…

Thanks to Southwark Council’s High Street Challenge, we’re bringing Gourmandizing London to the streets of The Blue, once known as The Larder of London. We’re hooking them up with businesses, community groups, schools, shoppers and residents to find out what’s cooking in the hood, and gathering ideas for some mega artworks.

Over the next 6 months we’re recruiting volunteers from The Blue to help with designing and painting a series of food based murals across the town: drawing on the delicious history of the Blue; inspired by the people who sell, cook and eat their way along the streets there today; and encouraging everyone to wander about this amazing area of SE London and discover new places, faces and businesses to love.

If you’d like to submit a recipe to be included in the project, email recipes@gourmandizinglondon.com or if you’d like to volunteer on the project email us on info@pexmas.com

We’ll be curating some events to celebrate how things are going, including a little marketplace fun and games this October ‘Down The Blue’. We’ll be bringing designers, foodies and local heroes out to shout about their amazing talents and projects, maybe add some music, a dash of workshopping and before your very eyes create a feast #OutOfTheBlue. So keep ’em peeled…
