This October, from the producers of Munch – The Peckham Festival in partnership with Southwark Council, The Nunhead Bite is landing on the newly refurbished Nunhead Green and sites around the area.
A festival of food, culture and community, the event brings together diverse partners from local organisations and wider London for a celebration exploding out from a festival hub, market and bar on Nunhead Green across the high street and surrounding area. Prepare to shop, eat, watch, listen and participate in all sorts of foodie and cultural treats. Take a journey of discovery full of unexpected surprises in unusual spaces…
The Festival Hub: a bespoke pop up modular market and events space on the park on Nunhead Green which includes; stalls, streetfood, performances, demos, talks, discussions, workshops, a bar, family games, festival information and facilities.
Events Programme: In partnership with Pull the Other One, Infinite Jest, Teatro Vivo and many more, we present the Nunhead Bite stage on Nunhead Green, and surprises all over town. Chock full of music, theatre, dance, spoken word and big belly laughs, there is something for everyone of all ages.
Bite Me! Outspoken chefs, foodies and producers come together to tell you what it’s all about. Talks and debates on all aspects of grub to inform, entertain and make you very HUNGRY! At the festival hub.
Around Nunhead: A series of interventions including performances, collaborations, tasting opportunities, tours and events being hosted at cultural venues, shops and eateries around Nunhead across the weekend. For example: Roy Brooks actor led estate agent tour of old Nunhead, The Great Nunhead Pub Crawl Quiz, WorkSHOPS learning the tricks of trades on the high street, and so much more…
This programme will encourage audiences in new and playful ways to venture into places they might not know, and to transform the familiar into the unexpected.
Mentoring Young People: somewhereto_ is a Big Lottery-funded programme that gives young people, ages 16-25, free space to do creative and entrepreneurial things. somewhereto_ is partnering with Pexmas for the fourth time to help bring two young entrepreneurs to market with a series of mentoring sessions to boost their market potential.
