Pexmas works with lots of people to make each event a success. Here is a bit more about some of our most important relationships:
Somewhereto_is a Big Lottery-funded programme that helps young people, ages 16-25, find space and support to do the things they love for free. somewhereto_ was created by Livity, a youth engagement agency that works with young people to co-create and execute engaging campaigns with big brands and communities. Their clients get uniquely deep youth insights and a precious pool of young talent, energy and ideas. Young people who come through their doors get training, equipment, support and opportunities to build brighter futures. We work together to bring young entrepreneurs to market with support from expert mentors! For a look at one of these opportunities, please check out Jammatology‘s experience with Pexmas MUNCH and chef John Quilter on somewhereto_’s YouTube channel here.
MUNCH is proud to support the Peckham Food Bank run by Pecan, a Peckham-based charity changing the lives of long-term unemployed people, ex-offenders and the disadvantaged. Whenever we visit the Food Bank we are blown away by the generosity and dedication of the volunteers. This is an essential part of our community in Peckham but it needs your help; demand for its services have increased dramatically in the last 3 years with new referrals arriving all the time. Pecan launched the Peckham Foodbank in December 2009 as a joint initiative between Pecan and local churches. In creating the foodbank it joined a national network of foodbanks established by The Trussell Trust, Salisbury. A foodbank is a store where food donated by the community is banked, and can be drawn on by people in crisis. It is designed to help individuals in need by providing free emergency food for three days, which is the period assessed as the minimum time it takes for the appropriate agencies to be in a position to assist. We work together through Munch to raise the profile of this important service and collect donations.
